Day 12 | CN Tower and Leaving

We woke up early in hopes of finishing packing, but Brian told us he already packed everything. We were upset, but too hyper to go back to bed. Eddie decided simultaneously that we should go to Canada National Tower, a Wonder of the World. We checked out of Towneplace Suites finally and headed towards our Uber. We payed the driver and drove to CN Tower. From two miles away, we could see the tower in all it's glory. We had already decided we would go on the Edwewalk. Brian and I were so excited to see all that CN Tower had to offer.

The receptionist greeted us kindly and booked our tickets. We payed $1,125 for the five of us for Edgewalk. It was at 11:00 and it was currently 10:30 so we decided to take the elevator to the designated area. We were dumbfounded by the extreme heights we were at! Brian was petrified by the height of the Edgewalk and grabbed James frantically. James yelled loudly, catching the attention of the security. I was tied into harnesses and held over the edge of the CN Tower. The cool breeze swayed me, almost frightening me. Below us was Lake Ontario, sending gusts of air upwards. I was enjoying the fresh air filling my lungs, revitalizing my weakened body from the thirty minute walk prior. Seconds later, I heard frantic screams from Vik beside me.

"MY PHONE!!!" he screamed ardently. "IT FELL!!!"

"Vik, what do you mean?!" Brian shouted, his voice muffled from the wind.

The entire experience was supposed to be one and a half hours, but it was only forty five minutes  for us.

We decided to leave the Edgewalk and eat. We ate at the 360 Restaurant! It is a restaurant that rotates from the inside, which gives it the illusion of spinning slowly. James seated himself and asked for a Hearts of Romaine and Baby Kale Salad. I had a 360 Greenbelt Green Salad, roasted vegetables and crab apple vinaigrette. Vik and Brian had Pumpkin and Ricotta Cheese Ravioli, roasted chestnuts on the side of freshly baked ravioli and a smoothie.

We were so thankful we were given the opportunity to eat this food because it was divine. The company and staff were also very punctual and very respectful. We also gave tips to the chefs because of their exceptional cooking and sense of art.

We had to leave at 1:00 since Vik was complaining about his Motorola falling into the depths of Lake Ontario. We called an uber and drove to a nearby Apple store, southeast of Pearson International Airport. Vik chose to buy an iPhone 8 Plus 64GB for $955. He also bought a wireless charging case, although he did not have a wireless charger.Image result for iphone 8 plus gold hand holding

The Uber driver congratulated Vik and drove us to Pearson International. We arrived with all our luggage and checked on our tickets. After it was approved, we continued to baggage security. Brian had to take of a lot of his handheld items. We got our handheld baggage and received a boarding pass.

To finish off the process, we went through the security check. We went to Gate 13 and waited for our boarding time to be announced. Everyone was mostly on their phones, especially Vik. He had a twelve minute conversation with Siri, his new Artificial Intelligence companion. Our number was called, and we entered economy class. We enjoyed our trip, but it was time to go. While Vik was excited about his new phone, the rest of us were somber about leaving beautiful Canada. We came to terms with reality and accepted that the plane would take off in just a few minutes. While Vik was documenting our misery on his new iPhone, we completely missed the push-back and taxi to the runway. We were speeding down the tarmac, and before we knew it we were in the air and leaving Canada.
