Day 9 | Back to Toronto

We woke up early to start our day off. The dew on the grass reminded us of humid North Carolina. Anyway, we would home soon. The bright dawn of the sun woke up Eddie and James. The staff came in at 7:00 to tell us about the inclement weather and dropping temperatures.

We got ready and loosened our muscles in a hot shower. Once we had all woken up, the room service came with hot chocolate as forgiveness for the weather and the unfortunate news that electricity could be out at any time. We gladly took the hot chocolate but reassured them that we would be leaving shortly.

After cleaning up the room, we packed our clothes into our luggage and walked into the reception. We thanked for their hospitality and walked into shivering masses of people in the parking lot. We took an Uber to the train station and gathered our tickets. Once our luggage was checked and approved, we waited on the freezing benches. Eddie used the last of his reception to make phone calls to our parents to tell them about our escapades thus far. We also encouraged them to read this blog! Hi Eddie's parents!

Our train came on time and we boarded on time as well. The train ride was chilly since Eddie, who was from Maine, opened the windows when it was a baffling -8° Fahrenheit!

In Ottawa, our second stop, we grabbed some chips for the second stretch of our journey. Since the train ride is nine hours long, we got bored really easily.

Once we arrived at Toronto several hours later, we were all exhausted. After eating dinner at Subway, we went back to the hotel we lodged in prior and took a long respite in hopes of a more energetic and fun day tomorrow. Of course, Brian was not sleepy. He talked with elder people on the train and told them stories about the US! He was texting his mom the full details of the experience.

Out of my window, I could see CN Tower shining through white film of snow frosting the glass of my window. I was very excited for the days to come. We took a Uber back to our old hotel and checked in. We all slept throughout the cold and snowy night.
